Marketing Your First Business Part 2-marketing your site

Now that you have built your site it is time to market it. However before you do this you will need to collect keywords and key phrases for it.

You can do this by using the free download at http://goodkeywords.com This tool will give you lots of good methods for collecting basic key words and key phrases for your site. For more keywords and phrases including niche ones you can go to http://wordtracker.com there is a nominal subscription fee. Here are a few ways to promote your website:

1. Search engines-this will be your 1st step in promoting your new website. It can take 4-12 weeks to be included in the Search engines so it is best to do this early. You can get pages of your website included sooner in Google by blogging at http://blogger.com and linking back to your website content. Optimize your website or get some help to do this. Use one of your keywords and key phrases and build a page of content around it.

2. Next start a Google Adwords campaign. This is especially useful if you have a niche or specialized market. Read all the information and tutorials that Google has before you make an account. Start with low bids and work up. When done correctly Google Adwords will bring you a good stream of highly targeted visitors. This promotion will bring traffic and often sales within hours to your site.

3. Linking is becoming more important than ever to get a good position in the search engines but there is a right way to do this and a wrong way. Always be sure you are linking to quality relevant sites and never partner with link farms. There are a few different types of linking. These are the most common.

o Exchanging links: Always remember to exchange links with quality websites that are complimentary to your business. o Back links, or sites that are linking in to your website. Encourage others to link to your site by having lots of good content and resources. Do blogs and article distribution to build back links. o Remember to interlink your website pages with anchor links using keywords or phrases.

4. Article distribution. Write or have written articles about your products services and industry and distribute them among online libraries, article banks and publications etc. you can do this manually, which is free but very time consuming. Or by software which will give you a limited range. Or by a good service which will give you more exposure.

This will give you a good start on building and marketing your lead generation site and you will over time gather an increasing number of leads. As you build more traffic to your site and improve your search engine position you will see more leads and gain customers. By this means you will have a solid base to build and develop your business.

Financial Predators Vermin, Rodents and Other Insect Pests

While there are predators all around us, we generally do not think of our financial providers as predators. Typical providers we might use include banks, financial centers (the fancy name some banks call themselves today), credit unions, mortgage brokers, and mortgage bankers to name a few.

With thousands of people going online and starting home-based Internet Marketing businesses daily, many quickly develop a need for more capital to build their new part-time, second-income enterprise. Some inexperienced newcomers fail to budget properly and soon find themselves in over their head.

Their next likely stop is to find a lender. I was stunned yesterday to get in my post office box one of those new, fancy, 6-by-9-inch oversized postcards with this screaming headline on the slicked up front side: Get $5,000 by tomorrow!

If I did not know better, I would have thought I was reading one of the exaggerated opportunities that pops up on my monitor every day, you know, the one that says "Join Us Now And Collect Your $2,000,000" from "one of the world's most rewarding financial associations." Yeah, right. I could use an extra $2 million, and if I read through the entire sales pitch, I would probably find out that I really had to do very little to get it.

Sometimes it is easier to relate to the $5,000 you can get tomorrow (yes, you read right, tomorrow). You see, the lender in this case does not want a lot of legal paperwork and collateral to hold you up. Heck, they just need your signature!

This presents a wonderful opportunity to play Donald Trump. There was a time when The Donald could borrow millions by just signing his name on a dotted line. Sure, the $5,000 lender, called CashCall out of Fountain Valley, California, presumably does a credit check and, even if you rent or your credit is not perfect, the $5,000 will be in your bank account tomorrow (this delivery process is commonly known among the financial community and those who borrow such sums in such ways as a bank wire transfer). And, of course, your immediate money problems are solved! Viola! (as the French would say).

Turns out the source of the money received actually comes from First Bank & Trust of Milbank, South Dakota, a member of the FDIC, mind you (this important fact is used to apparently inspire confidence in the lender which is probably in good standing with your federal government as FDIC does stand for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, an independent agency of your federal government).

Words cannot express how choked up I am with compassion over the fact that a bank would lend someone $5,000 on their signature only, and deliver the money into their account the next day. Some banks are just too wonderful for words.

A lot of folks would be overjoyed at the bank's generosity and understanding in their time of need. Then again, those same folks probably would be too excited about solving their "problems" to read the fine print in the same offer.

Generating Online CRM Software Sales Leads

If you are a salesperson selling customer relationship management (CRM) software a good place to start for generating online sales leads is on pay-per-click (PPC) ads on internet search engines. This is a step-by-step guide to generating CRM leads via the internet.

1. To start a PPC campaign to generate CRM sales leads on internet search engines such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo, first make a list of keywords that you think people that are looking for when searching for CRM software are searching for online. A sample list of keywords is available below.
2. Sign up for PPC ads and register your chosen keywords. The most popular PPC system is Google’s AdWords program.
3. What happens is every time someone searches your chosen keyword, a link to your website will be shown alongside the "sponsored results" section of the search results. You pay a small fee for every time someone clicks on your link and is taken to your website. The fee is small compared to the revenue you can generate from the sales lead.

Of course for you to generate CRM leads online via PPC you will need to have a website to capture the lead. If you don’t already have a website you will have to create one first.

The following is a list of sample CRM keywords that you can use in your PPC campaign:

* Microsoft CRM software
* CRM sales solution
* Free online CRM
* Customer relationship management implementation
* Small business CRM software
* Saleslogix CRM
* Siebel customer relationship management
* Open source CRM
* CRM tools and resources
* CRM sales leads
* Automotive CRM software

If you sell CRM visit Tino Buntic's website, TradePals, to receive free sales leads without cold calling, including CRM leads. TradePals is a B2B and B2C directory of business professionals and entrepreneurs across North America, providing qualified leads to its members.

How To Make A Great Living Online Without A Website

Are you a novice online marketer?

If you are anything like I was when I started out you’ve probably seen the hundreds of ads claiming quick riches for little or no work. One thing you should know up front: no matter what the program, or what its ad copy promises, you will need to do some work in order to generate profits.

Online marketing could be defined as promoting, selling, and delivering goods or services online. The good news is, they don’t have to be your goods or services, and you don’t have to have your own website in order to profit from this relatively new income vehicle.

What you will need though, is a web address (URL) – but more about that later.

So, where do you begin?

One of the easiest ways to profit online is through affiliate programs. Affiliate programs are set up by vendors in order to increase their sales. They are basically employing an online sales force. Affiliates sign up for the vendors’ program and are paid for referring people to the vendors’ web site. The affiliate may get paid per click, per sale, or per lead, depending on the affiliate program. The most common though is to be paid per sale.

To accomplish this you, as an affiliate marketer, only need to get prospects to go to the vendor’s website, once there, it is the job of that website to finish the sale. For this reason it is important that you choose wisely before blindly diving into any affiliate program. First, you need to decide if the vendor’s website would entice you to make a purchase. If the answer is no, chances are it is not going to be a profitable affiliate site.

To find a good affiliate program check out one of the following: Clickbank (specializes in downloadable products), Commission Junction, and Share It (just add the .com). These sites offer thousands of affiliate programs between them and with a little research you should be able to find a good one.

Getting your own domain name

Once you’ve found an affiliate program you’d like to represent, head over to GoDaddy.com and buy yourself a domain name. You need a domain name for several reasons, but the most important are: it will give you a good advertising image; You’ll be able to track visitors; and it will give you the ability to switch landing pages.

You can get a domain name at GoDaddy.com for about $9.00 – very cheap. In fact, for every affiliate program you intend to promote you should get yourself a domain name.

You should choose your domain names carefully. Pick something that represents what you are marketing. For instance, if you are an affiliate for a company that sells car seat covers, choose a name like car-seat-covers4U.com. This will help your image even further, and if you decide to develop a website at some point you’ll have a great URL in place and ready to go.

Masking your domain

Once you have the domain name, go to your GoDaddy back office and choose Manage Domains. Next click on your new URL. Then click on Forwarding. Now you’ll see a link that states, “Domain is not forwarded. Click here to see details or to modify”. Click on that link then do the following:

1. In the Forward To box, type in your affiliate URL.

2. Check the Mask Domain box.

3. Click Save Changes.

Once this is done it will take about 24 hrs for the changes to take place. After that start promoting your new URL and it will automatically take prospects to your affiliate website.

Marketing your affiliate sites

Now you are ready to start your marketing campaign. There are just too many ways you can market the site to cover here, but I will go over a few of the best and perhaps easiest:

* Put your masked affiliate URL in the signature box of your emails. This is one of the most overlooked yet easiest ways to market an affiliate program.

* Join two or three online forums that are somehow connected to what you are marketing. If you’re promoting skate boards, go to Google and type in “skate board” +forums, or go to their Forums link and type in Skate Boards. Once you’ve found a couple of online forums, visit regularly and offer opinions and advice, or answer or ask questions. Make sure to put your new affiliate URL and a few lines of copy in your signature box at the end of each post. One word of warning though. Don’t under any circumstances promote your affiliate products in your posts. Doing so will quickly get you kicked out of the forums.

* Write an e-book or manual about the topic of your affiliate program. In the e-manual or book include your masked link. Sell it on EBay for 0.99cents. Doing this you are effectively giving the book away, but because it has your affiliate links in it there’s every possibility that readers will click the links and go on to purchase something you will get paid a commission on.

* Write articles and submit them to ezines such as EzineArticle.com. You’ll have a resource box to put your affiliate links in at the end of each article. The articles will be picked up by webmasters and used in other ezines, on web pages etc. and you’ll get a lot of exposure. Study this article to see how I’m doing just that. I’ve used ezine articles on various ezine sites to make thousands of dollars promoting my main business. You could easily do the same, just study this article to see how I do it.

There are many other ways you can promote affiliate sites, I’ve barely scratched the surface, but with just the techniques I’ve outlined here you could soon be making a good living online.

Website Positioning Software

Website positioning is what e-commerce business is all about. It is the process of making your website as well as your products or services land on top or in the first page of top search engines. Online sales rely on the Internet to sell their products. If your site is on the first page of the search, then it means more traffic and more sales.

The primary goal of a website positioning software program is to gain top position on most search engines like Yahoo and Google. This software gets your website above the competition to gain more traffic, income, and sales with less time.

Website positioning software is a part of basic success to online business. Anyone can design, create, or build websites, but without software that can bring your site to be one of the top-ranking sites, the world will never know the products and services you are offering.

It is a fact that at least 80% of customers everyday find the products or services they need using search engines. Since time is precious, most of them click only at the first page of the result, and often they turn to second and third page. By using website positioning techniques like website positioning software and website optimization, your website will appear in the first page of search engines and will immediately increase its visibility and sales.

Website positioning software is very important tool for online business. It helps you to get more eligible traffic and increases visibility of your website to consumers. This software also monitors your keyword rankings, highest value of keywords, link popularity, and search engine saturation. Enhanced reposting capabilities of this positioning software allow you to take care of your search engine information so you can identify new trends and take appropriate action.

Without the right tools, it is practically impossible to gain top position in a search engine. For that reason, this software is built to make your journey to success easier and better.

How To Build An Online Business

We have all read or heard these sales pitches,

Earn millions instantly, no effort, just simply join our business opportunity!

Spend 1 hour each day and you will be a millionaire within six months!

This is the best opportunity in the Universe!

Actually, one of my friends uses an online sales pitch almost as bad as these, but what he does next is really interesting, he tells them the truth, yes, the truth.

He first explains about his online opportunity and the earning potential, he then goes on to explain what it actually takes to be successful in his business and its not easy.

If after this they are still interested away they go.

Although deep down everybody knows there is no easy way to success, people still cling to the small hope that the perfect business opportunity is out there.

If you were to advertise a business opportunity with the headline, ‘This Business Opportunity Is Great But Really Hard, You Will Have To Spend Hours Studying And Building Your Business Before You See Any Real Success’, what sort of response do you think you would get, correct, a big fat ZERO!

Building an online business is just like building a house, get the foundations right and you can then build the house of your dreams, a house that will look good and stay strong, even in high winds.

The problem with the pace at which we live today, no one has the time to research and study. Everybody wants instant wealth and success.

Yes, there are successful people from every walk of life earning fantastic incomes online.

The one thing they all have in common, they have all built a strong business foundation by studying, researching and then putting what they have learned into practice.

There are lots of people who are really excited when they join an online business, they tell their family and friends all about it, they stay in the business, don’t really work the business, they then simply fade away into the ONLINE BUSINESS graveyard, which by the way, is enormous. Why?

I believe it goes back to what we were talking about earlier, they are just not prepared to study and research, even if it gets handed to them on a plate, because nearly all online businesses have their own ‘Success System’, which when you join an online business is handed to you.

Starting An Online Home Business Is Not Expensive.

Depending on the type of business you wish to start, your start-up costs can be as little as $50 or less, even close to free if you use companies like Bravenet

The fact is, most businesses do NOT need to incur expensive start-up costs... and most businesses should not invest a lot of start-up capital before they've tested their business and their market online. That's where so many "dot bombs" made such a grave mistake in the past, and there's just no need to take that risk.

Only once you've tested your business idea on the Net and found it to be a viable opportunity should you start investing in the kind of software, web design, inventory (or whatever) that you'll need to grow your business. Then again, you may want to just do it all yourself every step of the way...

These days, you can keep your start-up costs down to approximately 50 bucks or less. And you can begin adding the other components of your online business once you've proven that your business can be profitable.

And you do not need a product idea to start---and not only that: If you do start with a product idea... you'll be off to a bad start!

The reality is, most businesses that start off with what they think is a good product idea are destined for failure. Your product might be great, but if nobody wants it, your business isn't going to get very far!

That's why it makes so much more sense to look for your market first. If you can find a need in a market you can reach, then simply give them what they're asking for... your business is bound for success from day one.

For example, there is a man named Eric Weeks who doesn't really like trucks very much -- he's never owned one himself. But when he noticed that thousands of people search the Internet for "truck accessories" every day, he knew there was a market just waiting for him to give them what they needed...

When his Truck-Bed-Covers site was only one year old, he was generating $800,000 annually in online sales!

Eric's advice is, "I sure as heck wouldn't consider building an e-commerce site on personal interests. So whether it's weight loss or travel, home business or truck bed covers... if enough people are interested in those subjects, then THERE is where you need to apply your efforts."

Twelve Things To Look For When Choosing A Mlm Business To A Save You Time, Money And Frustration

MLM opportunities - The web is jam-packed with adverts, and sites promoting their wares.
Below are 12 key questions to ask yourself when considering joining a network marketing business.

1. Is the management and marketing methods (and product) ethical as far as you are able to research? (you can also check out their credibility online through independent sources such as mlm watchdog).

3.Has the company been running for at least 2 years and are they an established leader in their field?
What is the history behind the company and their track record?

4. Does the company have a unique product which is consumable, of high quality and produces positive results. (A good question to ask yourself and others around you is "Would I use this product or service myself oven if it wasn't part of an MLM?)."
Is the product or service in an emerging/expanding market with excellent growth prospects and are you going to be at the beginning of this growth rather than towards the end this when sales will flatten out.
(As Mark Twain said :" The secret of success is to find out where everyone else is going and get there first.")
Also does the product have a strong brand name, and stand out from the crowd, or is it just another soap or shampoo that someone could purchase at a supermarket?
(One reason why many MLM owners struggle is due to the problem of market saturation where too many of the same or similar products are available for the customer and there is now no "room" for "another toothpaste").
(Note pyramid schemes usually don't have a product at all, or a very poor one).

5.Is the compensation plan "seamless" (ie you only need to sign up in one country but can market worldwide).This is particularly important if you don't want to limit your income.

6.How much product do you need to sell or use yourself in order to make money?
A good MLM won't require you to buy boxes and boxes of product in order to make sure you qualify for commissions. (There is nothing more frustrating in MLM than to have a garage full of vitamins or detergent you aren't using or selling fast enough, but have to order every month just to get paid on products you do sell).
A good MLM rewards you according to what you sell, not what you buy.
(A good rule of thumb is 1 to 3 retail customers since this is fairly easy to achieve).

7. How much does it cost to get started, can I start on a shoestring budget?
Can I build my business over time and upgrade if I want to?
A good MLM should be flexible and enable you to get started regardless of budget and time.
If you are paying an entrance/joining fee or the like (ie a package). you should be getting something for your money such as sample packs, advertising material etc.
Also if you are paying a monthly fee you should expect something more than just "administration"
(In my own MLM my monthly fees include websites, and a number of other services so I'm actually getting valuable items that add strength to my business and consequently profits).

8.Does your MLM provide you with a decent online presence?
Remember this is what many of your potential customers will see.
Is the website comprehensive, easy to read and has good presentation?
Is it equipped with the right tools and is it managed properly?
Do you have access to an "Admin centre" where you can keep track of sales, customers and commissions?
Can you access and change your contact /payment details if you need to, and is there technical support?
What about online sales aids/artwork and samples?

9.Do you get paid regularly? (ie weekly or monthly)
Frequent checks encourage new distributors and replace finances spent starting the new business.

10.Does the compensation plan include dynamic compression?
(That is when some distributors don't qualify for all the commissions does the money go to the distributors or back to the company?)

11.Do distributors receive regular updates and news about the company sales and development each month and does it reveal growth or decline.

12. And finally...
Is it "You"?
Do you like the product and feel comfortable with everything?
Are you able to get answers when you ask for them and are your emails replied to promptly (taking into account different time zones?)
Do you have a vision for the future and look "long term"?
Are you a "people person"?
Are you willing to work to achieve your rewards?
Remember to do your "Due diligence" and consider the opportunity carefully before joining
You'll be spending a lot of time building this business so don't be "railroaded" into any MLM by an enthusiastic prospector because of pressure.
Weigh up the facts first and then make your decision to go for it.
